The Honorable Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, GBM, Chief Executive, Hong Kong SAR,
will inaugurate the new venue tomorrow.
Global Sources chairman and chief executive officer Merle A. Hinrichs
said: ''We commend the government for its foresight in building such a
magnificent new exhibition center. This has made it possible for us to bring
our China Sourcing Fairs and thousands of new exhibitors -- along with their
business -- to Hong Kong.
''With over 3,500 booths, we believe our first gifts and home show in Hong
Kong will be a huge success for us and for Hong Kong. To our knowledge, this
is the biggest-ever, first-time export trade show to be held in the SAR.
''The China Sourcing Fair will give international buyers a much greater
reason to come to Hong Kong and will firmly establish Hong Kong as the global
sourcing center for gift and home products.''
New suppliers from throughout China -- new sourcing opportunities for
gifts and home products buyers
Over 1,000 companies at the China Sourcing Fair: Gifts end Home Products
will come from mainland China, substantially more than at any other gifts or
home products show in Hong Kong. Most exhibitors will not participate at
other Guangzhou or Hong Kong shows.
Hinrichs said: ''The China Sourcing Fair will offer buyers a huge
selection of new suppliers from emerging supply centers in China and
throughout Asia, with innovative new products at very competitive prices.
''We are proud to welcome groups of exhibitors from China's emerging
export areas to Hong Kong for the first time -- including suppliers from
Guangxi, Henan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Shandong, Shanxi and Liaoning
provinces.
''We believe the scale and selection of our China exhibitors will attract
large numbers of buyers, offering them truly unique sourcing opportunities.''
Hong Kong's new, world-class exhibition center right beside the airport
AsiaWorld-Expo offers a range of world-class facilities in its 10
column-free, ground-level halls. Buyers can land at the Airport and take a
1-minute ride to the venue on the Airport Express, or be on-site in just 25
minutes from Central.
Hinrichs concluded: ''This fabulous venue will bring significantly more
buyers and exhibitors to Hong Kong. It will be a great boost for Hong Kong's
economic prosperity.''
