With footwear operations spanning 3 continents with multiple manufacturing and distribution facilities, AmAsia International has streamlined its supply chain by combining two of its software systems.
Integrating SoftShoe, an international footwear sourcing system from Global Trading Systems, and FootWorks, AmAsia's ERP system developed for the footwear industry by Comprehensive Computer Services Inc, has helped the company improve the efficiency of its product development and sampling cycles.
The result is that SoftShoe receives production/supplier order data from FootWorks and integrates this information into the sourcing module of SoftShoe. Both landed and first cost orders can now be viewed on-line and/or printed within SoftShoe.
Orders received from FootWorks are automatically broken down by order and line, so tracking can begin on production, inspection and shipping events. This process eliminates the need for manual intervention, and streamlines the entire process.
"The integration of SoftShoe and FootWorks tackled some initial and urgent problems with production and sourcing," said Ted Finn, president of AmAsia.
Improvements include productivity gains, scalable multi-site deployment so that adding new offices, staff, divisions and lines is easy, forward financial visibility, and time savings by eliminating the need for faxed orders.
